Because black people have been trying to unify across the planet under the common African ancestry banner. South American Caribbean Europe and Africans have been preaching black love and unity but it is often left to Black Americans to do the heavy lifting and Sacrifice. So in this modern time black Americans have backed up from the pan African vibe and are getting our own affairs in order here in America. The tag line was a tounge in cheek joke that all the time from the black star line to now have been a waste of time because the Africans who come here produce filth or this shows kind.

Never heard akata before till right here from u guys. We used Jungle bytch on show, because in UK were called Jungle Bunny & spear chucker by #dos, but could not use those terms together on network TV. But do ignore the deeper issue & focus just on the inaccuracy of the term.

Black Americans doing all the work for the diaspora, and not one country from the diaspora doing anything.

Or

Black America trying to establish a coalition with an un-unified diaspora.

Black people in America need to take back the word "pan-african" cause it doesn't exist outside of this country, and I ain't talking about a small hand full of people that communicate with each other.

Pan africanism should be called Black Americanism. We give so much to every race, and no reciprocation.

True story: where i went to school, an ivy, in order to join a black sorority, you had to go through black immigrants, largely Nigerian and various non US, new world mixes. I didn't end up pledging bc bytches called my house and spoke to my mother disrespectfully. Since i told my story, several black sororities (alumni chapters, ados-led) have invited me.

Well, if she was born and raised in the UK, then it pretty much means that it was those from the Caribbean in the UK that were making her and other Africans uncomfortable. I’d imagine there’s not many AA’s living out that way.
