More non-black people say nikka than blacks I know

That Public Enemy thread recently really opened my eyes. I asked the question to when was the first known time "niigga" was said in a rap single or published track if possible to find, b/se the very early rappers didn't say it. Just out of curiosity for me. NWA released an album in 1988, but were around in 1986, and first distinguishable rap tracks were like 1978.

Its overseas too, go to a rap concert in Europe and you hear it. Rap/Hip Hop has made the word "cool" and to be frank "pop". And this egomaniac is cementing it, I think this fool is actually on a mission to make it acceptable. I listened to first part of "All Day" and even though its censored he says "niigga" 15X in the first bars. .

I joked on Kenyans getting kicked out of restaurants in their own country, but this is some shiit too.

NWA was pushed to get black power rap outta the mainstream. It worked, and look where we are.

I've mentioned before I grew-up & still live in a working middle class Mixed-race Suburb where Non-Hispanic cacs are only 36.7% of the population here as of 2010



When I was in High School, The Mexicans used the word "nikka" just as much (In fact Probably more) as Black folks did. Cacs who were friends & regularly hung out with Blacks and/or Mexicans used the word "nikka" too.


I'm not sure about Asians because they weren't a lot of Asians at my High School compared to some of the other High schools in the school district. So I'd have to ask my siblings who went to different High schools in the school district.


Anyways, this is why I've never got upset about a controversy of a non-black using the word "nikka" (i.e. Jennifer Lopez, Fat Joe, & etc). I'm was already used to non-blacks using the word regularly in my everyday life.

I've been against the word. Not only is it ugly sounding, but it's an in word used by black people that got popularized by rap and hip hop where anyone thinks they can say it because the word is used with no connotations.

It's never not going to go away until rappers stop using it in their lyrics.
