They are mostly ex family and friends of the rich land and casino owners that fidel kicked out during the revolution, almost all of which are of mainly white / Spaniards descent. There mad that the Castros ended there reign on top where the average cuban could do things like work on resort or casino but wasn't allowed to actually even go to one for leisure

Cuba, like all Caribbean islands has a substantial black population.

But many south Florida Cubans (not all) neglect and look down upon black Cubans.

I suppose you could say the same of all Caribbean people. But this issue seems more pronounced on the whiter islands.

As I understand it, when the slave revolts started happening, a lot of the European slave owners fled to Puerto Rico and Cuba which is why those islands are more white than Hispaniola, Trinidad, etc...

At least that's what I was taught in college.

They look down on blacks because they're the white elite. That's how it is with every country. Cuba is a country more in touch with their black roots.
