So Cal
Cam'Ron through Dipset had a much bigger peak
but E-40 had more longevity and a better solo career.
E-40 has a bigger cult following currently

ask a nikka in the bay area who the best rappers are in their region and it'd include 40
ask a ny nikka and i doubt they're saying cam'ron, even though dipset had hits for days
Not really. He only went plat once, just like 40. dipset wasn't nowhere near as big as coli makes them seem.

Oh ok..

Then I would still think Cam. And he's a East Coast dude...they always have to put up with bootleggers..before the downloading generation.

I love Killa to death. But as I said, this is about success. When was Cam's last mainstream hit? You do know 40 had a gold record with "Choices" just last year? If people can put all their "favoritism" aside and just recognize from a logical standpoint... E-40 has much more success in rap than Cam'ron. Am I saying Cam is not successful? Hell no. I'm just being factual.

No..I did not know that.

But Has he ever had a mainstream hit like cam's Oh Boy? Has he ever rocked live shows on 106th and Park? And cam has still been dropping mixed digital albums ..though money wise I am unsure who's doing better.

I still don't know of a song e40 is known for other than the Sprinkle Me..which was 20 years ago and not on any of Cam'S hits

you live on the west breh, the dips were defiantly big.

cam had a good 3-4 year run commercial wise but 40 has been rapping for close to 30 years or more, it's not even close.

I think we need to be more clear of what success is being asked. If we're talking longevity then of course it's E40..but if it's just longevity then it's neither of these guys and you have to put somebody like KRS who's those still making rap songs every now and again.

I don't know who's discography is bigger, mixtapes included, but if it's sales then I am not sure though sounds can and billboard should tell that story.

Mainstream success gotta be Cam.

If you mean success outside of the music then they're both successful in their own right. Killa got deals with Netfix and Reebok, and 40 has his wine doing numbers in Costco...I would say E-40 due to longevity

Californ-i-a by way of BK
Cam had a bigger impact mainstream, and influenced way more rappers with Dip Set and dressing, and the gang shyt

E40 been relevant for more longer, and had a business model that a lot of rappers followed, but didn't have the peak Cam did.
