Truthfully I don't see anything wrong with families living under one roof, sounds like a great way to save money.

I would say it is an American issue as well. In foreign countries folks live with their families until they get married whether they are men or women.
Also this is looked down on in the south (which may be a reason black folks look down on it becUse culturally they are southerners). In the south you are expected (especially a man) to leave the house once you are an able body and to take care of yourself. A man in his 30s with a roommate is looked as weird or gay. But this shyt is common in the north and out west especially with yuppies.
Last this shyt will only get worse as more and more jobs are shipped overseas and the middle class continues to shrink. With the gab between the haves and have nots growing, degrees being worth less and less because there are less jobs for new graduates the future doesn't look to pretty.
I can see what is now happening in Greece happening in America in the next 100 to 150 years.

TL;DR - The fact remains is we will always be behind because most of us come from dysfunctional families we are running away from, use shaming tactics towards men trying to build as a whole and don't have anything passed down to us from our folks. I know a lot of my Caribbean dudes still living at home at 30-32 but bringing in bread into the household that mortgage getting paid down real quick. Then once that mortgage paid off they gonna upgrade the home re-sell for 2 and I think the 2 bros are gonna move in together with both their GFs (soon to be wives) and the parents will get the 2nd home. Look I was living at home probably until 24/25, graduated during the recession and had a hard time getting on my feet like everybody else. (I'm 30 now)
Have CAC roommates from college that either had to move in with like 10 roommates sharing rooms and shyt working 4 PT retail jobs and $200 rent in Baltimore Maryland or moved back home if they lived in a real job market like NYC.
I did the logical thing, moved back home from the PA area to NYC with higher rents but better job market. For many NYers who went out of state to school this was the logical decision.
Transplants usually don't have this option to come here unless their folks rich. Plenty of our neighbors are rich little blonde white girls who mommy and daddy come over during holidays to cook and do their laundry for them. These bytches not in high paying jobs and best believe parents are helping them pay at least half rent. Rents for 1 BR in my building (the ones that have been upgraded) are $2k as we are in a prime location outside the city.
A lot of Black folk ignorant and hold themselves to ridiculous standards of CACs when the fact is these CACs have annuities and shyt out the ear that they are passing down to their children.
A lot of these so-called successful independent CAC married couples have been bestowed with HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars in trust fund and blind trust monies IN ADDITION TO HAVING THEIR COLLEGE EDUCATION PAID FOR AND NO STUDENT LOANS.
In the Professional development program I attended in NYC comprised (mostly of older millennials at the time) around 2010 or so the average age was 23-25 and 90% of participants were living at home with parents due to being unable to get a good job after the recession (That pays well enough to pay expensive ass NYC rent). NONE of the program participants were from out of NY state and all were born and raised here and either went to CUNY/SUNY or out of state school and came back. The program was diverse representing ALL races and nationalities EXCEPT white.
MOST Korean girls I know from either the program or elsewhere are STILL living at home in their early to mid 30's - And don't give me that BS about it being more OK for a Woman blah blah blah.
Now this ties into a big point for me - Aside for my previous tendency to date Asian or Latina, 90% of the Women that fukked with me during this phase were ASIAN
They thought it was remarkable I had a good relationship with my parents, that I was saving money and not trying to pay high ass NYC rent with several roommates to simply LOOK good and that I was focused on building a career and foundation for myself so that when I left I would NOT HAVE TO COME BACK...
It's funny but my Mother gave me a little flack for moving out when the fact remains I wasn't ever really with her 100% of the time even when I was back in college - I always divided my time between her and my Father's house since I was 16 years old.
She worked nights so really it wasn't an issue having females over most times. We didn't spend much time together except a 6 month stint in which I was officially "unemployed" between graduation and my first "real job". But I was hustling on the regular basis working at Home Depot, a furniture store, some BS Non-Profit - Whatever I could get. However, I had a time limit and if I hadn't found full time quality employment by age 25 I was planning on teaching ESL abroad and figure out the rest later. I wasn't just gonna stay here in Amerikkka struggling with dry dikk and limited opportunities. Probably would have moved to Japan and married some chick over there and made something happen. Oddly enough I did end up with a Japanese Woman and it's good I didn't move to Japan (their economy is shyt right now) but that's for another post.
Anyways, Chinese/Korean/Japanese Women were fukking with me even when I was struggling in the BS retail jobs - Why? They saw potential. These were Women with either successful careers in their home country on working holiday here or successful careers here. They were interested because I'm intelligent with clear goals in life and the capability to succeed long term. Black American (and many Latinas today) Women in the U.S. do not have a Father figure and therefore are unable to see this potential in many young brothers struggling today.
The reality remains is that whatever "type" of Woman (ethnicity wise) is down with a Man when he is struggling that is the type of Woman he'll likely be with long term or marry... Now many will say Black Women have done this but I don't know - I think they choose the type of negro that is living at home but aspiring rapper or slinging dope. They don't choose the type of dude living at home that either recently graduated college at the top of his class or is about to graduate. They don't choose that brother working 60 hours a week in 3-4 PT jobs hustling to make ends in this BS economy they choose that brother working 20 hours at Target/Walmart saying "fukk the world, i'm good" fake Rick Ross type nikka to be 100%.
The reality is you just can't make this shyt up. I know 2 other cats actually older than me similar scenario:
- Dude I used to work with and he was my boss's friend on another team. Black Man from Chicago probably about 35-37 now. Back then he was 32-34. Rising in the company at the time but prior to that he was living with his grandmother struggling for a couple years after graduation the Chicago job market was racist as fukk evidently. He did a couple things inbetween and finally translated his experience and scored a gig at the company I worked at about 4-5 years ago, my first "real" job. This dude's Wife is White as Wonderbread but was fukking with him during those times and believed in the nikka. Sisters were not trying to be down with his cause and even called him a fukk nikka etc. but had no problem dating the thug down the block and one of the chicks who curved him even got shot like that dude in the livestream vid outta nowhere fukkin around with set bangers.
- Another nikka I knew who worked for a sister company of ours from Long Island raised out in Suffolk. He moved back home with his girl's parents after working a BS ad tech job he hated to start his own shyt. He had a Woman at the time she was White but she was all for it. He did it and now dude makes $150k annually and his chick brings in $150k from her own job. They are eating well. Could it have happened if his girl was Black American? I'm 30 years old and live with my mother. She financially takes care of me. I am unemployed/broke and only have 30 dollars in my savings account. I spend all money I ever get from my mom on junk food because I am addicted to junk food.
I have a two year degree in Business Management I got this past December. I also have 60,000 in student loan debt because I went to a 4 year university and fukked around/didn't apply myself.
I am unemployed and have been applying/looking for jobs since I graduated this December.
Also. am timid, have bad social anxiety, low confidence.
EDIT: I live in Americus, Georgia as well. Small city with very little job opportunities.
