Threads like this make me appreciate paying my high ass mortgage each month because atleast I'm not living with my parents :scust: no disrespect to those living with their parents, times is rough outchea I know this, my own brother in law asked to move in with me because he's getting evicted next month and his car broke down..smh

it's funny. people nowadays are expected to do what their parents did with an almost triple cost of living like rent or house prices, with the same salaries and wages. people are either living with parents, cohabiting with partners they aren't married to or living with 2-3 roommates till they're married or 60. it's just not possible.

I see no issue with it at all.

As long as everyone isn't cramped in the space, you're contributing to the bills, and everyone is ok with the situation, no judgements from me. It has always been weird to me how us black folk have this stigma with family shacking up.
but most aren't doing all that... you know damn well most people living at home aren't paying a big chunk of the rent and utilities... not half... and probably not even a third

most of them barely paying they own bills and buying their own food... and then they'll have kids in the same situation... and the parents never intended them to still be living there either. so it's a burden on them, they don't even get to enjoy their life without you there

and then you a grown man/woman... can't have friends over... gotta sneak in a date.. can't wake people up late at night.. got another grown person making the house rules

now if you doing something productive, it's wonderful.. you saving up money for a home... you going to school... or even if you had a temp. setback... cool

but if you just in there cause you got a shytty job and you can't afford to leave... you're a piece of shyt... burdening your parents cause you're a failure AND you not doing a damn thing to get from under that situation either.. just waiting around for them to die so you can take over

the belly of the empire
Only in AMERICA is this an absurdity. :heh:

For the entire rest of the world this is actually the ENCOURAGED norm.

I never see anyone talking bad about how Hispanics and Indians and Asians got multiple generations under the same roof. How come you guys don't chastise them?

It's always a white person and black (American) person issue.

You're a loser if you live with your parents past a certain age.

again... they CONTRIBUTE.. everybody in that asian, hispanic home is working.. multiple jobs sometimes... cooking, cleaning, and most importantly... paying bills together and saving money

they then send that money back home to more family... or use that money to go back to their country with hella dough.... send kids to college... open a business... etc

cruise around on fb and see these 28 year olds working dead end jobs, spending money on bullshyt, not paying shyt but their own phone bill, and mom and dad having to loan them money to take care of their grandchildren and shyt

shyt my brother lives with me... but he's in college.. and my parents give us food money cause it's cheaper than putting him in a dorm and he don't work... let his ass try that shyt with no job, no school and no money... he wouldn't be living in either one of our houses
