Nah not feeling Karl Urban as Johnny Cage
excited-so.gif

His fight scenes looked every bit of being 50 something years old :scust:

Bro that's what I'm saying! There is a LAUNDRY list of dudes from 27-40 years old or who look younger such as Scott Adkins who are high level martial artists who can hold their own in action scenes and have proven it for decades.

This casting is indefensible

What's funny, the majority of the cast (a carryover from the first film) are a buncha no-name b-movie/CW struggle actors who can't fight worth a damn either. It's like they got the worst of both worlds:mjlol: aside from the geriatric asian typecasts who are playin Subzero and Scorpion.

The breh playin Jax, his entire career is law n order paychecks and playin "jimmy olsen" in that Supergirl show from a decade ago. Sonya's actress has 1 acting gig a year that be like 3 eps in random shows. Lui Kang's actor is probably best known for playing "asian Zach" in the last Power Rangers reboot. The asian brehetta playin Jade is more known for her video game voice over work :pachaha:

Now out of all of them, probably only the Liu Kang actor can actually fight/perform some good choregraphy without a million camera splices.

Part of why i had concerns the franchise was gonna be a failure from jump even from the first film: if you gonna pick bottom of the barrell no-name actors as the heroes/leads, at least select those who do top tier fight chorography, for a movie about fighting.

But they chose bottom of the barrel actors who also can't fight. Now for the sequel they tried getting a mid-tier actor who also can't fight and is on the wrong side of 50 lol

Not excited at all, especially considering how flat the first one landed for me. The Raid films did Mortal Kombat better than actual Mortal Kombat, which is mind blowing considering the miniscule, laughable budget they had in comparison to the tens of millions these movies are receiving.

The '95 Mortal Kombat was better in every area sans CGI to this modern take. Reptile vs Liu Kang >>> every fight in the latest film.
