I wish he made a proper follow up album to BOBS in 01-02. His charisma, and singing, I'm sure he could've come up with a single that could have blown him up or gotten him a platinum plaque. BOBS went gold, he was setup for stardom. He didn't fumble the bag or anything, he still had a good career, I think his heart was more into acting.

i think he could see thru the bullshyt and when the industry became so polluted with bullshyt, he just moved on
This is my feeling. I wouldn't blame any true mc for not wanting to bother with competing with the rap climate of this past decade.

The bigger question mark to me is what happened to his acting career. Dude went from flicks with Charleze Theron, Jason Stathum, Jack Black, Bruce Willis to nothing. Most music artists that transition to movies stay doing that because it's more lucrative than the music industry. But maybe he wants no part of Hollywood craziness either.

If you're in a good enough place to not have to really be active in anything and can jus live quietly thats great. Last I saw he was on Good Morning America showing them around a museum he runs in Brooklyn, and that's where you can hear new music from him

Black star and BOBS is classic enough. Some artists still going havent given us such classics.

I just think he never wanted to be the next superstar?
