Beastie Boys being legends.

They are legends off the first album. Then they're legends to a different group, sometimes overlapping off their following run.

That doesn't sting at all because nobody really argues Pac being on a technical level with Biggie.

The fact that he made better music has a bigger legacy by miles is always the discussion.

You made a quality post. YOU GO BOY! pause.

I think everyone knows this already so idk why that would sting

And just because you aren't as technically skilled doesn't make you a bad rapper. Pac and Scarface are more of mood rappers than technically skilled rappers and there's nothing wrong with that
plus rep.

I'm Talkin' To You
Top Back
Live In The Sky
King Back

^^^ Some of those weren't even singles. That's not even including "Shoulder Lean" or "My Love", which were features. There's people who have King as T.I.'s best album. Everyone was not on Jeezy. Just say you were on Jeezy. There's no way you could've been following Hip Hop in 2006 and say T.I. didn't own that year.
TI was huge on a mainstream level but Jeezy had the biggest buzz that year. The only songs from King that were playing in the streets and clubs were "what you know bout that"

But alot people weren't feeling King. Now people are acting like it was beloved.

King was beloved when it came out. People were feeling it from the jump. More than just "What You Know" was playing in the streets and in the clubs. Jeezy wasn't on T.I.'s level in 2006.

Drake was the hottest rapper in 09 nikka. End of story. Hov did a lot in 09, but Drake was new. He had features everywhere was played in every club and people were anticipating his album. And we can agree to disagree, stop acting like a bytch with your retarded smileys, we're not 4 years old

Drake in 2009:
  • Best I Ever Had - #2 US Billboard / 3x platinum
  • Successful - #17 US Billboard / 1x platinum
  • I'm Goin' In - #40 US Billboard / 1x platinum
  • Forever - #8 US Billboard
Versus...

Jay-Z in 2009:
  • The Blueprint 3 - debuts #1 on the Billboard 100 after selling 476,000 copies and ends up going 2x platinum
  • D.O.A. - #24 on the US Billboard 100 and won a Grammy
  • Run This Town - #2 on the US Billboard 100 and certified 2x platinum
  • Empire State of Mind - #1 on the US Billboard 100 and certified 5x platinum
  • On To The Next One - #37 on the US Billboard 100 and won a Grammy

Drake had a real year but come on, if the roles were reversed you wouldn't even suggest that Jay had a bigger year than Drake...

He was never the hottest rapper out at any year, which was genius in retrospect and why he stayed relevant for so long. Being #1 or the hottest comes with the eventual cost that you'll suffer from over-saturation

DMX was the hottest in 98 to me

DMX in 1998:

Jay-Z in 1998:
  • Streets Is Watching DVD and soundtrack -- a certified 'hood classic, #27 on US Billboard
  • Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life - 3x platinum by the end of the year despite being released in Sept.
  • Singles: It's Alright - #61, Can I Get - #15 and certified Gold, Hard Knock Life - #19 and certified platinum
  • Album won the Grammy for Best Rap Album of '98 when DMX wasn't even nominated
  • Spawned the biggest tour of all time which Jay-Z headed and had DMX billed on the undercard
...but Jay-Z never ran a rap year. That's not even including '99, '01 w/The Blueprint and the Nas beef or '03.
