I don't think I ever really bought into the story of religion.


I respect religion for its mental healing attributes and its ability to help people stay on the right path.

But a truly civilized person doesn't need a fairly tale to know what is just.

i think alot of them that were previously religious go through something in life that brings an end to the source of their happyness wether it be material or someone they loved dearly but instead of accepting that things are in a constant state of change that being the only thing that wont change they adopt a whole new line of thinking

I stopped subscribing to religion when I learned to rationalize a little more than a juvenile. I was like 14, or 15.

Im 30, Im the happiest I've ever been in my life, and other than some rough times due to my own stupid mistakes when I was young, life has been all gravy. Im married to a dime, I own my home, Im never broke, and I make the most out of the day, everyday. I never got any of this through praying either

quite the opposite actually, I was never religious. My parents were never religious. I never had it forced down my throat. I spent my teenage years contemplating it for myself actually.

As with anything people 'reason' out there's personal psychology part to it

I'm beginning to think a lot of people are just not going to be comfortable with a worldview that contains no afterlife.
