Folks don't realize how hard it is to try to make a point in a public forum and ensure that you pick your words carefully... which is why I feel that a lot of folks shouldn't be given that type of forum because they simply are the wrong person to speak for us on these types of issues.

I like Kevin as a person but he shouldn't be speaking on this. I feel the same way about other black celebrities. Just cause you're a celeb doesn't mean that you have to weigh in on these types of topics. A lot of the time even if they have good intentions, they simply lack the depth to have the real conversation that's needed.

Most black folk who make it out of the hood feel this way. I’ve had to check myself a few times because I found myself parroting Republican taking points.
