.....ice on my wrist..oooh weee...bounce that azz....wobble wobble....he did that....whodi....a got damn movie named Hot Boyz :gucci:

all this was happening as I was desperately holding on to my Nolimit stannery, battling the Cash Money onslaught...P had me looking crazy :wow:

Ice on my wrist was what killed it for me, the chorus was a stolen line from a Cash Money artist. Right then I said :camby:

It's sad too because P got hella biters now, the shyt he did as a business man was great and he was first but it was too early. He was the first one to think of pre-paid phones and pre-paid debit cards.

Hoodratz were a fake Onyx. I remember Sticky shouted them out initially, then Onyx started kinda sonning them.

Their album is actually pretty dope but yeah they clearly jacked Onyx's whole style

Didn't go through the whole thread but has anyone mentioned Flatlinerz? Couldn't be more obvious they were trying to be the Gravediggaz

:salute:I'm subscribed to the Headz youtube channel and listen to some of the new stuff that they drop on there, but I really don't know what's going on with the whole scene now. You're right...it really fell off hard around 04 when it just became soulless and formulaic, and the literal heavy metal influences started taking over and everything got too crazy. whenever I get frustrated with how lame some of today's music can be, especially rap music, I'll go back to that late 90s early 2000s jungle era and even to this day the shyt still inspires me. people sleep on it...a lot of that music was so ahead of its time...especially factoring in the equipment it was made on back then. Talk about Vibes...

I used to travel from NYC to Toronto a lot for shows back then...Toronto was the closest we had to London for all that in North America. The culture was interchangeable between those two cities. That's why it's funny seeing people clown Drake for his 'newfound' London obsession...Toronto always had London influences for years. But I don't even think Toronto is popping off like that anymore:sadbron:

We should get a thread popping off in the Booth because im sure there are some others on here who were involved in the scene back in the day. if not, we can put some people on:ohhh::jawalrus:

Not sure how I missed this post back then, but I cosign everything you're saying breh. I'm always down to put some folk onto some new music. Is there a dnb/jungle thread in the Lounge?
