Consoles will never be able to compete with the PC. Almost every game that I love thats on Xbox or PS is on PC, so their is no necessary projection for me to own those consoles. Even though I do own a PS4. Nintendo basically said fukk it, we gonna go in another direction and let them try to compete with the PC in a spec gimmick war.

Most financial analyist that I read have already predicted mediocre sales for the Scorpio, with the Switch becoming the #2 console. So not surprised by this at all...

I think some just underestimate how many people simply just don't give a shyt about going online to be in the know how. They'll know when it's literally thrown in their face, like when E3 comes along, or when they start seeing it on social media or in the papers and shyt, or hearing it from a friend.

My brother who loves Xbox never even knew the Scorpio brought out those specs till I told him about it. "Oh I didn't know there was a scorpio reveal" "Nice, just watched, looks good so far". People don't give a shyt about game line ups, they want it because it's the next system from the company.

I think it has everything to do with how it was revealed. It wasn't revealed thru the media. Most people don't know what digital foundry is. Major Nelson mentioned it once on inside Xbox. For the most part, Microsoft doesn't want Scorpio to be unveiled til E3. Everyone will know about it afterwards so these polls only make Sony look bad because their product is already available

In terms of horsepower, yes this is what these new upgrades are. As I quoted another Sony stan earlier, Sony themselves admitted they are going after the PC with the PS4 Pro.

Not really sure what is so hard to comprehend here. In fact it makes a ton of sense because they will not be able to have these 7-9 year refreshes without spec bumps anymore.

If you were someone else I would say you were moving goalposts with your use of 'relevant' considering the OP had nothing to with technical relevance.

However yes consoles are forever trying to stay on the coattails of Pc gaming. Nintendo just said fukk it though, hasn't hurt them at all.
