People do pick their platform of choice based on what it can do for them that other platforms can't.

The OG Xbox had a ton of exclusives and y'all didn't care about it like that, the 360 dropped early, had exclusives, and was the best place to play 3rd party games and still didn't out sell the PS3 and the Xbox 1 was shot down before it got out the gate.
But if they just did the same thing again this time, it'll be different right?
Xbox would literally have to start throwing around stupid money to lock down all kinda games on Xbox. Then y'all would complain about them being a monopoly again and just throwing around money
And if they do decide to go the hardcore exclusive route don't be surprised when you start seeing exclusive gamepass titles that are only available via a gamepass subscription.

Without a hardware gimmick, there will be no reason. And that's what Microsoft has been preparing for. And Sony is going to use Microsoft to be able to even participate moving forward. There relationship has already "Deepend" as they stated years ago. But lets ignore them saying it themselves. Lets ignore the fact they are porting their 1st party games to Xbox now at a faster rate than in the past (I'm talking about moving forwad, do you want receipts?)
Xbox allowing games on be on PlayStation is the hook. Gamepass is the future console. And 3rd parties will make consoles for those who don't want to live in the clouds. Its a hybrid now so nothing is stopping you from playing any and everything on Xbox. Including PlayStation games
