Not only is there elements of actual racism, but there's so much wilful ignorance that they've built entire platforms and social algorithms that prioritize whiteness and or white ideals. Which is something that academia, medical or media could NEVER replicate at scale.

This is closely followed by Law Enforcement and Academia.

What industry have you encountered the most racism in?

I mean, I’ve heard horror stories from all of them.

For my experience, I’m gonna say universities are the OG boss of all racists. It’s hard to even put into words. The pretension…the arrogance, blocking opportunities for minorities while preaching social justice, punishing professors whose research dismantles the status quo, blocking black professors from getting full or tenure, hiring people with ZERO skills, the stealing of intellectual property, covering up any evidence of progress if it doesn’t support racist ideology.

That shyt aint objective. It’s friends on different committees publishing their friends work. You could have the cure for cancer and if you ain’t kissing the right asses, that research will never see the light of day. There’s so much knowledge that never hits the light of day b/c it’s blocked for racist and political reasons.

So many cover ups…just awful.

Sounds to me like at some point, oppressive/racist systems prevent even their own progress. If someone has a cure for cancer it would be outrageously dumb to prevent or obstruct that

I work in the television news industry. When I first began my career it was super fukkin racist. The shyt these news reporters and lily white pumpkin latte drinking producers would say about "bad neighborhoods" and their paranoia of "getting shot" in certain areas was unbearable some days. Plus the politics as far as promotions, pay, network faces, editorial decisions, on-air "look" policy, and hiring was entirely geared towards white people. To make matters worse many black people in the industry are bougie, self hating, respectability types that loved being around white friends. For real. The first time I argued against all the racist ass bullshyt people say about certain areas trying to school them about circumstances in the black community only for one of the black anchors to chime in to take the side of the racist white dude (and her friend) basically agreeing that she too fears being in "the hood" I just wanted to tear my hair out. I couldn't stand it.

It's only in the past 10 or so years I began seeing a visible change in all that now that "wokeness" and diversity is a new trend, especially in the news and media industries. There's much less of that underhanded talk about black people and communities that use to be common and they are far more relaxed on how black talent are allowed to appear. They are also way more conscious about how they present certain issues than before.

I was surprised when I transferred to a PWI school and saw so many foreign professors.

Had more foreign professors than American ones.
