My current chick is from Brooklyn. One of my side-chicks is Costa-Rican but lived in in NY all her life even tho she moved to Jersey last year. For whatever reasin, NY women have always loved me even tho i dont seek them out. I'm like an NY chick magnet or something. Been that way since i was in High-School when i lived in Miami. All the NY chicks that moved down there were always into me

This hasn't really been my experience with them. They've all been proud of their city but I've never really seen too many go over board like that

Tha fact of tha matter is if you're an aa in New York most if not all of your lineage can be traced to tha south like any other aa living in a great migration destination, and any new Yorker that has a hard time accepting that is just plain delusional and might be suffering from self hatred.

I spent a lot of time around the old folks growing up. You're probably right about the percentage of the population, but I've known several, some in my family who were, as we say, "here before". They blend right in until you start asking questions. I knew a woman who was damn near 100 in the 90's who had been born, raised, and several generations deep in NY. One of my uncles came from one of these pre- Migration groups. My man probably got some Afro Dutch in his lineage bc his ppl came from the South so early that the Migration hadn't really started yet, and they settled in Bk (which is where the longstanding AA comunities were).

At this point, we're all mixed up together. I'm curious about the self hate theory, though. Self hate how? They AADOS too.

Everytime I see NY mentioned, NY posters come out the woodwork with paragraph after paragraph on some "ur jealous of NY" , "we stay in y'all mouth" type shyt. I got love for NY cats but a lot of them think the whole world is sitting around daydreaming about NY. Like there getting paid by a beneficiary to defend NY:Denzelcrackinup:
LA posters always hit u with the "u not from the land" , "u stayed in Hollywood so don't speak on it" yet they stay speaking on other cities. They also get mad af when u bring up Mexicans


Between the two I gotta give it to LA. NY gets attacked more so that's why they spaz more, but LA posters seem to get mad when u mention anything that can remotely be attached to LA (mexicans, gangs, rap). U can visit LA a million times and have sound observations but if they don't agree with it ur opinion is invalidated.
Like I've literally seen a thread on "what city has caused the most damage to the black community" and everyone mentioned LA cuz of bloods/crips and LA posters got salty.
