Views is the sleeper here tho, that dropped in 2016 which was kinda before the streaming era was really in full flow. Kinda crazy

it is surprising though Views has some of his most popular singles. What’s clear to me is Drake is the most popular artist on the planet pound for pound. Other folks bounce around the top charts but Drake’s monthly plays have been >50 million for 5 straight years. There’s really no debating it at this point. He’s already well on his way to being the voice of two generations when it’s said & done.

The streaming era is weird... I feel like most of these albums "sales" are driven by one or two songs on the albums getting streamed like crazy.

This definitely isn't a reflection of the quality of music because most of these albums aren't even really good outside of Astroworld and Damn

And we know Drake is Drake, but quality wise Scorpion and Views are probably towards the bottom of his catalog
Pop Smoke and Cardis albums are classics and I’d argue those X albums are pretty good too.

the only truly whack album on that list is Views

Looks about right I guess.

Views sold a Million first week mostly based on streams.

Scorpion had monster singles.

Damn was Kendrick’s most accessible album and Humble and Loyalty were HUGE singles for him.

I never got the hype for XXTencion and Juice World dudes but I guess the youngins love them for some reason. My younger cousin told me kids see XXTencion as their generation’s Tupac:dwillhuh:. Not for me to understand I guess.
:flabbynsick: gang checking in

“extensions” is far from my favorite rapper/singer but I checked out some of his music on some curious shyt and he got a few that I messed with

I don’t know about that new Tupac stuff:mjlol: but I can see why kids messed with him. It’s definitely not music that I’d put in my regular rotation but I’d probably listen if these songs came up in a playlist
