I was going to ask why he said Marino, but I can actually understand it when you have people today acting like Stafford is a top ten QB of all-time. It’s why I made the title say under-appreciated as well.
Yeah, if Stafford stayed a Lion there wouldn't be a soul attempting to put him over Marino.

I could be wrong, but I think I know the reason people become underappreciated and the old guys get closer to the bushes. Just thirty years ago guys like Joe Namath, Ken Stabler, hell Bart Starr got heavy play up in the Serrato. Not GOAT contention but heavily revered. Well then came Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, Mahomes, JACKSON , Allen, that flat out clears all them old cacs and it pushed them closer to irrelevance. Now notice i didn't mention Brees, Eli, Flacco, Stafford amongst others. All legendary QBs with rings and/or accolades to support their case, but they don't make an impact cause they aren't that much better than the old guard, if at all.

History continues to write itself, only the truly great withstand the test of time. The Hall Of Fame is your ticket into immortality, but you have to even be greater than that to be remembered without somebody going "oh yeah I remember that guy"

Nobody says "oh yeah I remember that guy" about Tupac or Biggie. When's the last time you thought about Digable Planets :pachaha:

Leslie O'Neal should be in the Hall of Fame. He's the epitome of an underrated and forgotten player. Anquan Boldin Lomas Brown Larry Centers Matt Forte etc.
