Lemme expound on this. Imagine some agreed upon moral ill like homosexuality. To a poor person, the wages of this act are hiv/AIDs and a quick death. Poor people must actively enact policies against this act because homosexuality is an existential crisis to them. Now compare that to a wealthy person who can afford expensive anti-viral drugs (after the fact) and treatments like PREP (before the fact) which render no consequences to the same act of homosexuality.

But it's because of this cause-and-effect relationship (or the lack thereof) that I say there is no consequence to the moral decay in late stage America because of how established the US is.
