I dont see how its any different. I want varied characters, ie Final fantasy 4-9. Everyone in this looks exactly the same, and they all look like fakkits.

Better a team of fags than a group of people with dry personalities but that's just me I guess, fukk a Lightning and everyone else in her crew.

But it doesn't matter anyway since this game is Detox status along with The Last Guardian and Half Life 3. Hell even Kingdom Hearts 3 has a better chance at coming out first.

I agree that xiii had a tremendously awful cast, but character design wise they were better. Now you're gonna get a group of fakkits plus the terrible dialogue of XIII.

Until they do another "back to the roots" game like 9, im out.

Yeah im done with Final Fantasy and if it wasn't for the Eidos part of Square, I'd say fukk them too.

There is a silver lining tho, Square Enix just gave Monolith Soft permission to crush buildings with the next Xeno game. At least we'll be seeing more of that and (hopefully)Persona 5 at E3.

Sazh and Fang were great characters. Lightning was actually acceptable in the original XIII there was a clear progression to her character and by the end of the game she was way more laid back. Vanille I can forgive because she was walking around acting like an idoit for the fact that the whole time she knew she was directly involved in everything the party was going through but she needed them so she could stay alive so she behaved that way part out of guilt and part so nobody would know.

Snow was an idiot and a shyt character. Hope was a kid and I've never liked those sorts of characters. People like Final Fantasy X better than XIII but to me XIII has a better cast than X. Outside of Auron the whole cast was garbage there.

If you'd said Tales of... I could agree with you but Persona games are released too infrequently. Hell they're still making Persona 5 and it'll be on the PS3 and we'll be 2-3 years into the generation of PS4 by the time it hits. Persona 4 came out 6 years ago and they still haven't released a proper sequel.

Persona 5 is not running on the catherine engine.

Team Persona’s first high-definition game Catherine outsourced a third-party engine. With Persona 5, Atlus is making use of a new internal engine. Hashino said this engine will allow them to smoothly convert their ideas to reality.

if it releases next year in the US, that will make it 4 years of dev time which isn't too bad for a game of it's scope coming out on a new system with a new internal engine. It isn't like Persona 5 was being worked on since 2008 if we were to speculate.

As for the tales games, I don't really pay attention to them anymore. they're not as big as a final fantasy release and they just seem to be B-tier RPG games. Last one I played was Tales of Vesperia and it was alright at best, nothing really to get hyped over imo. I didn't even play any of the PS3 iterations as I just simply didn't have time.

Since 2007, atlus released Persona 3, Persona 3FES, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 Arena and coming this year are Persona Q, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and next year Persona 5. The releases in between each mainline persona game are usually chock full of content. I bought Persona 4 golden 40 hours after playing the PS2 version via emulator and it felt like a fresh game. It was more than just a simple prettier port that was portable.
I lost interest in JRPGs for a while after being jaded with FFXIII. Persona 4 rekindled my interest and now I can't get enough. I still have FFX HD sitting in it's case.
