I guarantee you that no one in this thread championing this law actually works in a school.
Teachers/counselors/principals can't be the welfare police too.
School us, nerdy lady.
BTW, nerds are good in my book and I accept them as equals

That's already the case in most states. They can't just call you but you have to be involved in something school, job training, volunteer work, etc in order to get benefits. What they need to do is make it a federal law so that all states have to comply. They won't do this because the poorest, whitest states like mississippi, would be in shambles.
Your post fails in two places.nikkas on here is c00ns i swear to god
these crackas want you to believe that the POOR are the real burdens of society, like they're the reason america is in the situation its in or something, and you goofy ass nikkas believe it wholeheartedly..meanwhile this government is spending damn near a trillion dollars on the military like it ain't shyt
Counter productive in the grand scheme of things. It doesn't make kids value education. It just causes the teachers more stress/time to deal with the kids who don't want to be there and distracts the other students who actually want to be there from getting what they need.
In order for it to be of any substance, there needs to be more regulation/requirements. Otherwise, it's just causing more hassle to the people who want to be there.
Your post fails in two places.
One it's about poor people, not black people exclusively.
Two even if it was about black people exclusively, what is c00nish about wanting to see black people do better?
nikka i said poor people, not black people
You guys do know there are parents that have no control of their kids, and the kids don't give a shyt whether the family eats or not because they're out in the streets...
My parents would beat my ass if I missed class, and they kept in contact with the school so they'd know; I could intercept mail before they got it, but couldn't stop them from calling. But not everyone got parents like that. It would be easy as hell for a 14yo to skip school considering they often walk to school or take the bus; IE their parents don't know what they're doing.
Is the school calling parents, emailing, etc to tell them their kid is ditching? I might support this if they are, plus providing social workers as the article says...
Then why use the word c00n?
But see your post is perfect example of why kids go astray and why in our community people continue a cycle of welfare. It starts in the primary household, more parents need to take parenting serious instead of letting tv, and teachers raise their children, its bullshyt. Nothing more, nothing less. To tell you the truth, as a parent I would rather take my child out this world than to allow her to be vagrant or ongoing convict in society.
