everest has only like a 1% death rate but it's more than 20% for some of the other commonly attempted mountains

the first one's some random guy's fpvod, i skimmed thru it and still came across two deaths :merchant:

So whats the real killer other than the cold? Is it that people freeze to death because they dont have enough heat to keep them warm for the duration? Or does it simply get too hard to breath up there and you slowly suffocate? Is it because the water freezes and you dehydrate and die cause theres no water to drink? Any good documentary on this?

Past like 8k meters you literally are “dying”

So much people get got there cuz the planet is telling ur dumb ass you fukked up. Iirc u need a special mix of air to be up there and even then thats iffy.

I don’t understand why these CACs want to climb that shyt. With the amount of money it takes to go through the journey, you might as well use that cash to rent a helicopter to take you to the top to take pictures.
If the weather permitted helicopters up there, there wouldn't be so many bodies still up there and wouldn't be such an issue getting the bodies home from the lower tiers.

Everything. Lack of oxygen, hypothermia, exhaustion, sabotage, terrain flaws, falling, getting stuck, etc

The Everest movie has a few good examples and kinda doubles as a documentary because it's based on real events
