I tried running on a trail before and shyt was cool while all the other runners and hikers were with me but I stopped seeing other people as often and realized I had run at least two or three miles deep into the forest without seeing another face I looked around at the forest surrounding me and knew then and there I was little b*tch and ran back like Leti from Lovecraft Country.

Any time he looked away for a split second, the animal charged. Imagine how long it would take him to stop, pick up a heavy rock without slipping on the shyt and piss rolling down his leg, and throw it. Then think of all the animal could’ve done in that time.

Not sure what the right move is. I might have picked up a rock and tossed it up in the air to make a loud noise and try to scare it off.

Wouldnt have thrown the rock at it unless it made a direct attack.
The mountain lion was definitely just posturing.

But I also wouldnt hike without a gun and a ton of ammo anyway.
