Some people live at home for good reasons such as to finish school, save money, preparing to buy property, etc. and in my opinion, that shouldn't be looked down upon.

Now to be at the house pushing 30 or there after and your not trying to establish any kind of financial autonomy or self sufficiency is just lazy.

But unfortunately some people don't understand the importance of leaving the nest. And there are parents who will allow and encourage their grown adult children to stay home and be dependent. It always hurts the child (no matter the age) because it stunts developmental growth and progression.

Depends.

I got two cousins who are doing very well in life and still living with their parents.

I think people who have the opportunity to stay at home are lucky and they should jump on it. Some people turn around and squander that opportunity, have met dudes like that too, but i wish i coulda stayed home cuz i would be further ahead now.

Not necessarily. It's an individual thing, and sometimes it's a cultural thing. Black people are real big about kicking their kids out as soon as possible... ideally, your kid shouldn't be leaving until they're TRULY prepared, at least financially. As far as it stunting developmental growth and progression, it really depends on the person. For some people, it does stunt them, for others it doesn't. There are people out there who can't be motivated to do anything until their back is against the wall and they have no other choice but to thrive on their own, and for those people being allowed to stay at home would probably harm them. Not everyone is like that though. Some people can develop independence while they are actually still technically dependent on someone else.
