I used to work with older folks so of course I would see people struggling with the reality that their partner has dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Generally speaking, most women would usually take care of their husbands and a lot of men will also still take care of their wives with dementia. I've only seen a few situations where the partner no longer takes care of the person anymore

This situation is strange and quite foul. I'm sure if he didn't have a daughter he would place his wife in a nursing home and it would be him and the Mistress in that house.
