Won't be that bad as long as you're upstate. Quite a bit of opportunity in the Greenville/Spartanburg area, and I know Greenville's downtown is going through rapid growth. You're also near Charlotte, and the greatest homecoming on earth takes place about 2.5 hours away in Greensboro.

SC ain't that bad depending on where you are.
Greenville, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, and Charleston are all livable places (along with Rock Hill/Fort Mill which is basically Charlotte suburbs).
Aiken/North Augusta (Augusta, GA suburbs) are borderline. Anywhere else will be wack.
However even in the wack places, you might find a nice little thick joan to chill with. I've lived in Charlotte for 10 years and the majority of brauds I've dealt with are SC brauds.
