Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Why couldnt they just release the movie online through their website as a first day sale or something from an offline server but the file is a heavy encrypted file that can't be cracked without the right keys or something.
cause hackers hack everything... and the first movie that gets cracked in full 1080p online will crush that movie and ruin the idea

We're going to get to a point where nobody has to interact with anyone ever again.

Home theaters
Oculus Rift
Sex bots

Lol hope y'all like this future.
People are a bunch of fukking zombies like these days like in Wall-E

crowds seem to have zero reactions to anything these days in theaters.

This year has actually made me change my opinion on this. I'm actually in favor of it. You really had to put in work to see all the oscar movies this year. I had to go to the oldest theater in the state to catch Moonlight (mainly because I slacked a little but still) and to see shyt like The Handmaiden was a far ass drive.

I would support it at maybe $15 but not the 50 though.

Going to the theater is still king but if we're gonna have to drive all over the state just to catch some quality indies maybe it's best seeing it on your home theater day and date.

This is perfect for a party. Have all yo friends chip in or have them supply food & drinks. Now u watching Spider-Man Homecoming drunk as hell with your friends in the comfort of your own home:blessed:

This scenario alone is why I don't think this will take off. People are going to be throwing their own shyt and caking off it. :mjlol:

If you got a 60" and above TV with some proper surround sound. nikkas will be blowing your phone OD. :pachaha:

How can movie execs be so clueless about their own industry? :mindblown:

This would only send piracy through the roof.

It has to be at a price that still encourages going out and seeing it. You can't have a new release available at home for the price of a Blu Ray and have 6 people over watching it

I was thinking of it more from an indie perspective. Like if I'm trying to watch The Love Witch I would pay like 12 bucks for it.

It was only in 22 theaters in the whole country. Had they put it up on VUDU or itunes same day it would have made more money.

Plus distribution model for indies and foreign flicks is so fukked up you can usually download a european bluray rip way before we even get a theatrical release. If any.
