Movies that are better than the book.

clockers- the book was mostly from the detective's pov (harvey keitel)...spike's version isn't necessarily better but its a lot different & is a great movie

the godfather- alot of extraneous stuff was cut out: sollozzo's backstory, johnny fontaine, etc...marlon brando killed it

silver linings playbook- in the book, the main character's slightly retarded, he's often confused & doesn't know where he is...the movie's is a more realistic look at bipolar people

i am legend- i like the alt ending in the movie

I'll agree on Silver linings playbook, in the book I couldn't get a grasp on his character AT ALL.

I totally agree. It's rare to find a person that will go out and purchase an actual book.

The only one I can think of is Trainspotting.
Every other movie I've ever seen has ruined the book.
Oh, and I guess 50 Shades of Grey but that's only because the book was absolute hogwash and should be used as kindling, and not for actual reading.

The last book that I read was The number one ladies detective agency. Good read!!!!

I tried to read this and failed.

I remember liking The Girl with a Pearl Earring movie better.

Most times, books are better.

I think you misread my post

Cac trolls (trolling posters who I suspect are white) is the first thought ... should have put a line like

The book came out first but honestly it's like the movie was VERY loosely based on it.
