Actually, for the first half of the movie Bane is in full control and has everything planned out to the T and PERFECTLY. Then after beating Batman down, Bane resorts to doing dumb things, unnecessary delays, allows himself to get beaten by Batman (in a situation where confronting Batman served no purpose), starts simping, then allows catwoman to take him by surprise and blow him to bits.... It is a complete unraveling of Bane's character. The movie basically has two versions of Bane.

In TDK, the script did not resort to unraveling Joker to benefit Batman. Whereas, Bane goes from Unstoppable Beast to Simp halfway through TDKR. It is the typical scenario where the villain unnecessarily delays accomplishing their task, does dumb shyt and tells the hero their plan while about the accomplish their plan then ends up getting spanked by the hero.

u need to watch the movie again. everything been consistent and explained... and STILL whut u posted had nothing to do with the film being one way and going a completely different way by midway of the film....

one of the GREATEST films ever, but perfectly fits this category:

muthaf*cckin' TAXI DRIVER!

from a lonely taxi driver becoming obsessed with a female campaign volunteer then turning into a vigilante coming in killing off pimps to save a teenaged prostitute!

Some of these are just examples of poor plotting, and uneven films, not necessarily shifting into a different movies. 'Dusk Til Dawn' is the best example, it's a genre switch, a lot of these others are just messy film making and screen writing. I didn't like 'American Gangster' much, and agree, the Russell Crowe sequences were out of place. How did 'Insidious' switch genres? Agreed about 'Atonement' too, though it is based on a novel, and makes sense, I liked the first 'movie' better, the rest was kind of been there done that.

i didn't realize this thread was about switching genres, i thought it was just about the movie drastically shifting in a completely different direction compared to the first half, whether its the story or the pacing or the genre, there is just a big noticable shift that makes it seem like there is some sort of disconnection between the first and second parts (like Insidious). i agree that it is not always done on purpose.

oh and dont know if it has been mentioned, but Vanilla Sky

Wasn't criticizing anyone, or what they posted, just some of the first examples, aren't like the rest. What do you mean about 'Insidious'? I don't see it. 'Atonement', I don't see as a movie that turned into a different one, I just liked the first half better.

:comeon:

I'm exaggerating the "fukk the white man" part but don't tell me you didn't see the big ass shift to Fantasy action plot to an oppressive foreigners segment.

Not denying that it seemed like a different movie.

I have seen the flick three times. Dumb ass explanations don't excuse bad or inconsistent writing.
