Moving to NYC in a year and a half

Why are you in New York if your just going to be doing regular shyt and live a regular life? Maybe you should move down south and leave the city for people who want to make a mark in the world.


I was at my friends art show the other day and he inspired me. He is doing it big in new york right and its only been a few months. Maybe I could be one of those people that gets to have an awesome life doing what he wants.

Most of the people in NYC don't leave a mark on the world, you clearly have a naive view on NYC, you seem like the type of nikka to think city like LA is full of gliz and glamor and doesn't have any working class people Ol NYC is only Manhattan ass nikka.

I'm from Toronto I kind of feel the same way you do. I used to hate all these people coming here from small towns and now thinking that they are the shyt and pricing me out of my own city. I was born and raised here. But then I got more into the arts and starting hanging out with these people and I realized that they are a lot cooler than the people i grew up with. And you gotta have respect for people who decided to take their live in their own hands and follow their dreams....as a opposed to just accepting their lot in life. As someone who grew up in Tdot, new york, la, or london was always lowkey the next step.

I hate calling this following my dreams, its not like im becoming an actor lol. Theres real tangible money to be made. Got a meeting with Universal this week

Got shyt lined up, i could leave now but I want to basically be making twice what I make now independently before I leave. Going to be going beast mode in the next year and a half.

I'm 19 and I live in bedstuy and i'm working on my bachelors for civil engineering. I ain't trying to leave a mark on anything other than providing for my family. It just seem like your idea of NY kind of naive

Good luck. I wanted to move to NYC a few years ago and was actively seeking jobs...actually got a job interview via Twitter. It's a great city. I probably wouldn't move there now unless I'm moving in with someone who already lives there on a relationship-type level...but you never know! I have a few friends who are photographers/videographers so if you move, I can put you in touch...I've introduced a few of them to one another and they help each other out with last minute shoots, networking with models etc.

I would stay there as long as you can. I had an engineering internship working for the government but I didnt do it the next year because I didnt want to give up a job that paid more. If I stayed I probably could have got a job with the govt or landed a job faster after graduation. Glad things went the way they did I ended up getting a better job with more responsibility down the line. I don't want to work in engineering any more though. I only majored in it because I was afraid of having to make money on my own.

You had the same mentality I did when I was a student.
