. I seen a couple dudes belts and one cat was a black belt with like 5 red stripes. I made sure to not make eye contact with him the entire time 
we got coaches at our gym who take pride in making people throw up
that's exactly what dude said too. He said if we don't make you puke the first day we're not doing our job 
just wait till you get to BJJ and the higher belts torture you by keeping that knee and weight on your belly when your dead tired
