Tried the updated beta and just went back to the downgrade. shyt is way too buggy on my OG Live and I still can seem to figure out the issue I had described in my last post that's not allowing me to get audio from my turntable without prompting an error. I'll wait until the official rollout instead of being a test bunny :hubie:

I don't think i'd ever get it. Doesn't make sense to get rid of the old workflow. They could have just added an arranger, not make it the only sequencer. shyt makes no sense. We've been using the original sequencing mode for over 30+ years and now it's taken away.

I am comfortable and I love you
As someone who owns a 60/3000/4000 and has used other MPC's through the years, I don't think I could ever go back now. That old model of programs is way outdated. This lets me sample and edit my chops and sequences from the main screen, stops me from doing things like setting programs to the wrong MIDI track and generally keeps stuff organized much better. Disk streaming has also let me use my SSD to load and chop up entire songs which I couldn't do before.

The only thing that I've tried unsuccessfully to this point is saving to an ableton file but I can wait for an update for that.

I'm still on 2.15.

As much as I love upgrading and seeing new ways to work, I haven't been that hype to jump to 3.0 yet. Workflow is everything for me, and like somebody else said, I'm not in the mood to switch that up just yet. I started with the 2000 over 20 years ago, and I've copped about 6-7 different MPC's since. I'm on the Live II now and love where everything is, so I'm not ready to pivot.

What's up with song mode in 3.0? It doesn't exist anymore?

I upgraded to 3 and downgraded instantly. I don't understand that shyt and have no intentions of wanting a computer DAW on the MPC

Ahhhhh, damn.

That's what I was worried about, the most. There are times when I'll get an idea, and I'll just bang out a quick draft on the DAW on the computer without the MPC. But when I get back to the MPC, I just refine the track on it, without losing any of the feel or workflow that I like.

It hasn't changed that much since the strictly hardware days, but the things that have, are things I've been doing forever. So I don’t really want to switch my whole sh*t up again because Akai is throwing all this new unnecessary sh*t in the process.

song mode is still there. its not a complete relearn like i thought, they just moved some stuff around. i hated it for a minute but i got used to it fast

overall i get around a lot faster in 3. all the features i used in 2 i can get to from the main screen instead of menu diving
