Looking at the trailer and screenshots, it looks like they took a lot of the visual effects for her ability and replaced what would be skintones without a light show.
She still looks like she pulls an embiggen in the trailer. Like her limbs stretch, but it's more like her astral body. With eastern philosphy you could actually make that connect back to her culture, she looks like she's punching and kicking with an etheric layer of her body.
I get the intiial reaction but I think people might not be so hot about it once they see how it works.

In the minority here, but I've always hated Kamala's stretching powers....they seemed unworthy of the sidekick of Super Saiyan Carol Danvers.

I guess in the comics it makes more sense in differentiating after three other Captain Marvels.
In the MCU it’s just two so far.
As someone who knew nothing about the show till seeing the trailer yesterday, this was my 1st thought.

Dude, this take of depicting people as racist neckbeards for not liking something marvel related is old and tired. Barely anyone is even mentioning her ethnicity, religion, etc for disliking the trailer. Marvel itself is now a mainstream entity and most audiences come to expect diversity in their movies and tv shows.

that’s part of it. The other part is she’s a young female. The other part is she’s a Muslim.
It’s all about relatability. The trailer gives off vibes of that show grown-ish. Not for everybody.
I guarantee you if she was white, the tone would be different. But it’s only the first trailer and as long as the villain is white, more people will be on board.
Feige is pushing these characters for a reason. Diversity. #marvelset is trying to hit every demographic

The white dude who said "The Batman" had too many good black people in it said the quiet part out loud. If you think there aren't people who are writing this off or giving it less of a chance than they would over race/gender because "woke" you're not being objective. And I hate boiling shyt down to politics or race, it's draining.

Just looked up and watched the trailer. I can't believe how many a$$hole reactionary comicgater channels there are bytching about this and have the nerve to claim they just want good stories with no agenda yet anytime they see a minority or a woman in their nerd property they bytch and moan for views. I really don't even want to belong to community that's this hospitable towards these types.
