The only companies microsoft can afford to buy (and even have it be worth it) aren’t game changers. There will never be another acquisition as big as Bethesda.

They wouldn’t even buy bungie, who are raking in cash with destiny and could have put together a system selling Halo for them.

Honestly bringing bungie back under the tent and merging in 343 or at least dissolving it seems like a no brainer.

This thread is fukking jokes :mjlol:

Microsoft will probably acquire another company again at some point in this generation, but y'all talking about them buying companies like EA, Take 2, etc need to relax.

While Microsoft has an absolute fukkton of money, this still comes down to what they think ROI is. If Zenimax went for $7.5 bil, going after much larger public companies would be much, much more expensive. At some point, Nadella is gonna shut that shyt down.

Sega is a very real possibility based off of their previous relationship, but people really are underestimating the stubbornness in Japanese culture that would resent and possibly reject acquisition by an American company.

Either way, I'd like to see how they integrate and and handle their latest, including how getting some of that cost back effects the consumer, before they make another big move.

For a Japanese company the smart thing to do would be announce a exclusive partnership 1st then years later announce the acquisition.

Easier pill to swallow for the Japanese audience

Agreed. Just jumping out and saying foreigners own the company, as absurd as it may seem for us to say it, would probably be rejected almost immediately.

And even then, it'd need to be a company that has a history in the country/with the acquired company.

You don't see people getting upset when Nintendo and Sony purchase American companies, so anyone that would be in their feelings over it should just be ignored because they are clearly biased and a fanboy.

Business is business at the end of the day.

The biggest difference is both nintendo and sony have a large american audience already. The xbox division of microsoft is pretty much ignored in japan at this point.

The difference can't be that big or notable since Nintendo is the only company putting up notable HW and SW sales in Japan these days. And if the company is a large developer/publisher like the video in the OP claims, then NA would be their target market anyway.

Would it be a less than ideal scenario for some gamers and fans? Of course. But like I said, business is business.

Microsoft ain’t buying another publisher.

They got more studios to manage right now than any other publisher.

Maybe another studio or two, but don’t expect another huge purchase like Take Two or Square.

They gotta manage what they got for the foreseeable future.

I think he was less getting at fanboy anger, and cultural anger. Japan doesn't like outsiders taking their shyt.
