Fable 2 was the best game in the series.

The problem was that molyneux made it seem like it was going to be the greatest game of all time and kept lying about what would be in the game.
Fable 1 had better combat. He tried to regulate all attacks to one button in Fable 2 that shyt was lame.

Fable combat has really never been all that good anyway though. Fable 2 was a step back in complexity, but gave you more flexibility in how you handled enemies; 3 just refined that a little more. I hope the next one takes a new direction and makes combat more engaging and worthwhile. After a certain point, I was just sitting back as far as possible and sniping enemies in Fable 2 so I didn't have to button mash. I was picking off Balverines from so far away in Westcliff it took a good 10 or 15 seconds for the first of the experience orbs to reach me :mjlol:.

They also need more enemy variety. Only so many times I wanna deal with the same old bandits or hobbes. The lore for Fable has always been pretty solid, just the games as a whole tend to fall short and feel empty. And I honestly don't even get mad with Peter Molyneux because at least the dude seemed excited about his own game. Just too idealistic.

Like Fallout you don't play Fable for combat or gamey gameplay. Like most western RPGs you play for "style" and customization. This is why Fable 3 sucked because it took those two away. However I agree that combat needs to improve even the will(magic) casting. RPGs have come a long way since Fable 3. I hope you are allowed to die. The next Fable needs to take inspiration from Skyrim and Witcher 3.

Loved Fable I’m so glad they’re bringing it back:banderas:

Maybe it didn’t have the same charm as the first and second games, but I always thought the third had the best combat:yeshrug:. It wasn’t spectacularly good but i found it fun. Not sure why it gets so much criticism compared to the others

Also to the Fable haters in this thread, GTFOH let the fans have our moment:blessed:

Fable 2 was one of my favorite 360 games ever. 3 was ass, but let's see what they can do on next gen.

Nawwwwweee breh with Fable 1 you could even do Dragon Ball Z moves. My favorite shyt to do was use Beserker magic which looked like a Kaio Ken an punch an enemy. Then cast Slow and the enemy is flying back but slow enough for you to do an Assassin Rush which makes you zip right behind the enemy and fukk him up even more. :ohlawd:

Fable 1 was great, never played the other joints. This and some miraculous Scalebound revival would make me think about the Series X.

Played 2 first with no expectations. Loved it. The final sequences had me :ohhh::ohlawd:

3 was trash.

Played 1 years later and I can see why it was a cult classic.

Heavily anticipating this. Finally.

:mjlol: Fable 1 was a classic. You could actually rob a business so many times they would actually go bankrupt and move out. Then you could buy their business and make money from the shyt you stole. That type of experience could never be duplicated. It was so satisfying especially considering how difficult it was to break into a house/business to ruin them.
