Thecoli is wonderful. :mjcry:

Back to Cosby though, what exactly is he putting in these bytches dranks? Horse tranquilizer?:wtf: Because one sip, these hoes know there is something in there, and they are already on the floor passed out. Yet again, none of these hoes go to the emergency room, like "I have been drugged, help me!!:damn:".
They just go home and sleep it off?,:comeon: Every. single. one. of. them. :childplease:

It didn't matter how famous you are, if you grabbed a white woman titty in a restaurant in the 70s-80s you are going to get arrested.

To go to court, you have to be arrested....
to be arrested, they have to have reason to believe you committed a particular crime...
...which is why evidence is important.

If some evidence comes out that incriminates Bill, then he deserves all the villification he's getting...but not a second before.

i'm just saying i don't see anything ever really coming of this, worst case scenario we get another jimmy savile situation but i think cosby's gonna pass without any damage to his reputation

if there's a hell, you're making your reservation for it with that statement alone.

I guess this is where we disagree, because it looks to me like his rep is taking big hits:

- there's been a story on Inside Edition about him almost every day
- he was supposed to have a new show come out, that's gone now
- TV Land used to show The Cosby Show 5 times a day - they pulled it

He was already internationally known as a stand-up comedian and actor by 1984.

The point is that a black man (especially a celebrity) was NOT getting away with drugging and raping (white) women in the 70s and 80s.

Yes but he was not powerful enough at that time to get away with rape. People trying to claim him being famous is why he got away with it.

:what:

...but that's the point! No matter his level of power or popularity, he was NEVER going to get away with rape in the 70s or 80s. And even if he wasn't as popular and powerful as some people are making him seem, that's all the more reason why women could've accused him of rape (if he did in fact rape them) and he wouldn't have got away with it.

You dudes realize that these rumors were surrounding cosby for a long time. I remember almost a decade or so ago there was news of this but it never blew up like it was now.

Also, someone made a great point. If this was simply a way for these women to get the most out of the dude the would of came out this when he was on top. That is the best time to pile on and bring a guy down. Not now.

I'm sorry but I don't give a shyt if the dude is black.Given the amount of women coming forward and given these rumors have been a while for a while, I'm prone to believe the women in this case.

The dudes saying no black man is going to get away with rape. If anything the idea of what constitutes rape has become more stringent over time and the stigma has become worse with time.

Hell, I know this is a shytty example however I think this shows the attitudes of time but take movies like Revenge of the Nerds where a dude fakes being someone else to sleep with a girl and its supposed to be hilarious. That would constitute rape and wouldn't fly as a comedic moment without critic today. Rightfully so. Another example is the movie Saturday Night Fever. There was a scene where they essentially rape a girl in the backseat but its not treated as something major or heinous.

So a man, even a powerful rich black man like Cosby, is much more likely to get away with that shyt in the 70s and 80s given the attitudes towards what constituted as rape and how it was viewed in society as a whole. Women in today's society are probably much more comfortable coming forward about rape than in those days. There are a lot of challenges that face women who come forward about rape, especially against someone as beloved as Cosby. Probably the main one being that they are often not believed or people become apologetic for the accused's behavior, even the police.

Your entitled to your opinion and I feel the exact opposite....I view this as a last play to get something before they end up having to sue the estate.

i been trying to tell nikkas in real life this.... and can you believe they are arguing with me?

:beli:
But what does it mean?
You can tell fake militants when you see them^^^. Any real black militant would never join in with whites to hang a black man no matter how they feel about the man. Even if the knew he was guilty the most they would do is not comment in the matter.

Tell your other black super militants this.

Imagine this Huey p, malcolm x, dr. King in a public forum agreeing w/ white people about how a pro black successful black leader should have his shows canceled and image damaged with out any evidence trials or conventions all because white women now decide to come forward and accuse him a rape that allegedly happened 40 years ago. Yall aint shyt.

Fam, I hear what you're saying but...

1. Why didn't these 20-25 women bring up these allegations, especially when other allegations existed and they were within the statute of limitations? Granted, some of them are repeat claimants but if they didn't prevail against him then, why do they think they can prevail now (30-40 years later)? It's very suspicious that all of these women are coming out of the woodwork at the same time.

2. I really don't think people get it that there was NO WAY a black man (especially one in the public eye) in the 70s and 80s was getting away with raping over a dozen women (most of whom white). Hell, there's NO WAY a black man even in this day and age is getting away with rape. Throughout history, black men went to jail or were killed over allegedly raping ONE white woman. Rape is a very serious charge; just being accused of rape is a huge blow. A black man accused of rape is damn near guaranteed a death sentence. Cosby drugging and raping a dozen or so white women and getting away with not so much as a criminal charge then is damn near impossible, if not impossible altogether.

Things are just not adding up.
