Now that the policy ideas are coming from someone who didn't challenge their queen, they can comfortably begin to pivot. I'm not mad though, they know how to make the messaging palatable to more moderate Dems and their audience should be eased into supporting this stuff. I may be frustrated that these cats fought in disingenuous ways against the policies they now claim in a fairly disingenuous feeling way, but if it means more voters buy in or at least hear out the proposals instead of strawmanning 'em...I'll take that.

Andrew Gillem has turned the tide it seems. You think it is because he was Hillary supporter in 2016? Interesting.
I think it also has to do with the accumulation of unlikely Progressive victories. The war for the party is being won by Progressives!
While it's weird they are skipping over how wrong they were even as recently as a month or two ago. I agree, I like the results. Talking about these issues in positive manner and treating them as moderate and popular on cable news is a victory. Love it.

. . . in reverse? :patrice:
Seems that Joy Reid at least has seen the light on Progressive issues/candidates? Is this an anomaly or a new direction for the network? :jbhmm:

I noticed this too. I was watching last weekend on some, bytch please :camby:

I don't know what her end game is. Maybe she needs something to keep the wolves off her from all those Islamaphobic and homophobic blog postings that were revealed when she was uh.....er..."hacked" :smugfavre:

But I can't get behind her in full support. I welcome the change in tone, but I'm not gonna forget how smug and condescending she was for basically all of 2016 and 2017 towards progressives in general and Bernie Sanders supporters specifically.

How crazy is it that Bernie's feverish rhetoric inspired (by their own admission) all these new progressives to come up with policies that reflect his proposed platforms though right? Like this dude was just screaming craziness and now everyone that's followed his lead is coming up with ways to make it work...:mjlol:

Case and point the fight for $15 minimum wage:

Since the start of his campaign, Sanders has advocated for a $15 minimum wage. Since early on in her campaign, Clinton has supported the Fight for $15’s efforts in individual cities and states. But her official position is that she prefers a $12 federal minimum wage as a floor, allowing cities and states to go further.

Sanders’ has a point that he is calling for a federal minimum wage that would be $3 more an hour than what Clinton says she favors. However, he misses the nuance that Clinton is also supportive of local efforts to raise the minimum wage to $15. We rate his claim Mostly True.
Does Hillary Clinton want a $15 or $12 minimum wage?

The problem with Democrats is that the believe taking a weak policy position like $12min wage, while "supporting" $15 would rally everyone behind them as progressive and pragmatic. $12 is only progressive when compared to the Republicans. It's not actually anything to be proud of. But it plays well with white people.

That's why the centrist policy position never makes any sense. Raising the minimum wage to $12 helps, but it doesn't solve a need. If you ask them why 12 and not 11 - they get defensive. If you ask them why 12 and not 13 - they get defensive. That is the deficit of centrism and always has been. Their policy positions are not meant to do anything but temper the fears of white people and businesses.

Centrist are basically payday loaners.
