CNN would be more successful with just straight facts IMO. The pundit shyt creates more counter-reactionary content for online aggregators. Problem seems to be that they invested so much that they think going viral will allow them to recoup.

It's more of a standing of Cable itself in big trouble... Comcast is trying to figure out how to turn a profit with MSNBC and Warner-Bros already in doo-doo but has CNN on the books. No one is paying money for talking heads instead of news... especially being bundled with stuff like Home & Gardens and Oxygen Network.
We really need just an unbiased news source on par with visual twitter but CNN seems to cocksure they can win viewers back.

Yeah. And I know this is about MSNBC, but I've got to say, I doubt Abby Phillip signed up (and moved from DC to NYC) for this. Her evening show used to be an objective, well-run show with thoughtful and robust interviews of important/relevant people. Now she's basically a referee for yet another shoutfest.
She's a serious journalist and should be above that manufactured drama.
