shyt really makes no sense when you think about it...there's no consistency in the logic IMO...like what did Big Sean do last year to deserve a spot on the list, let alone #6 ? Compared to people like Nas who had a critically acclaimed album that sold 350K plus albums... T.I. who sold 400K plus albums and on his way to gold...even Tyga who sold 350K plus albums and two multiplatinum singles....like one mixtape, a couple verses on Cruel Summer and a flopped single in Gawp supercedes actual tangiable success? I don't really get what "hot" is supposed to mean anymore

i'm taking it as the most discussed, the people other rappers want on a track, the people who have the most radio/club play, the names that get you to listen to or download a single or mixtape. TI was not that person last year, Tyga is not that person, Nas makes quality music and I'd like to see him on the list, but he also doesn't burn up the club/radio like that

:what: Do you know how many hit records Sean was on last year? Mixtape was voted one of the best of last year. Was the star of the Cruel Summer album. Sean had a better year overall than Nas.

I think it's clear that they don't give much credence to sales or Ross wouldn't have beat Drake, Kanye, Jay, Nicki and Wayne last year

:whoa: I know better than tell you anything bout Big Sean...but sixth hottest MC in the game, I'm just not seeing it...how many hits has he been on last year? The Cruel Summer singles that would've still been hits if they put Cyhi or Cudi singing for a couple of bars instead? He's the sixth hottest rapper on the planet right now, but when he drops the radio single for his new album it flops? :ld:

Just not seeing objectively how he had a "hotter" year than somebody that sold 400K+ albums...or somebody that sold 350K albums with multiple multi-platinum singles on it....or somebody that sold 350K albums and widespread critical acclaim...all with, like i said before, nothing but a couple verses on Cruel Winter, one mixtape (and not even some transcendent "bigger than most people's albums" Drought 3/SFG/Rich Forever type of mixtape), and a failed lead single...watch his next album come out and not do better than Nas' or Tip's :manny:

With Ross it was more of expectation type thing...Rich Forever was one of those special mixtapes that kinda snatched an entire moment and was dominating the game...and I bet you everybody in that room figured that GFID was gonna be one of those special kinda albums where Ross with to that next level of artist...they pretty much all but pretty obviously timed the listen immediately after Rich Forever did it's thing so they could crown Ross...but he ended up underperforming and not even being as "hot" as 2Chainz when it was all done it...just don't see where Big Sean comes in that equation...I could see the year before that when his album dropped and he had all of that hits...but last year, not so much

those 2 singles wouldn't of been the same without Sean on them. There's a reason why Kanye picked them tracks to be the singles. How was Guap a flop when it got radio play? It's also been on Billboard for 11 straight weeks. Sean had a dominant year without a album. That's the consensus by everyone in the industry. Sean's next album will go gold.

Jay, Wayne, and Nicki aren't on this list, I expect all three stanbases to be outraged...

Wayne is def on the list.
Kendrick x Wayne x Ross x 2-Chainz. IF I had to cut one .. 2-Chainz .. odd man out. Shahiem Reid is ont he panel dude is on the payroll for MMG .. how can he be impartial? :wtf:
