Nas Will Be Grammy 'Greatness,' If You Ask Da Internz - Music, Celebrity, Artist News | MTV.com

Nas created a masterpiece with his Life is Good LP, but the Queensbridge lyricist didn't do it alone. The album's vivid rhymes, coupled with its deep and penetrating beats helped earn God's Son a 2013 Grammy nomination in the Best Rap Album category, category, and his Life is Good contributors Da Internz think Nas is a lock.

"If we're talking about real albums as far as the category and people that are in it, we got this. Nas got it," Ernest "Tuo" Clark, one half of Da Internz, told MTV News confidently.

Nas Has A Grammy Win In The Bag
No question, Nas had an exceptional 2012 outing, but the Grammy competition is tough this year. Drake (Take Care), Lupe Fiasco (Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1), the Roots (Undun), 2 Chainz (Based on a T.R.U. Story) and Rick Ross (God Forgives, I Don't) are all in contention for the Best Rap award.

Though Life is Good will be remembered by its unforgettable album cover and songs like "Bye Baby" where Nas opens up about his divorce to R&B singer Kelis, the LP was a welcome reminder to the 1990s sound that the rapper mastered on his classic debut Illmatic. There were songs like the Large Professor-assisted "Loco-Motive," the deep and brooding "A Queens Story" and of course "The Don," the reggae-tinged banger produced by the late Heavy D, Salaam Remi and Da Internz.

If Nas does take the golden gramophone home, it will be the first time the rap veteran has won a Grammy and it'd be an honor for the budding production duo. "Man, that's a huge accomplishment for us to be attached to greatness," Clark said.

"If we can be a part of history on top of history, that's like a super honor to just be a part of that," Da Internz's other half, Marcos "Kosine" Palacios added.

It should be a lock.

No rapper has ever produced top-notch quality efforts like Illmatic and LIG 18 years apart. :salute: the GOAT.

I want him to win something at the Grammy's but I have a feeling he'll come up empty handed.

No hit singles means he probably won't get aoty. I could see him winning in one of the other categories with Daughters.
