All those lists are for is marketing. If I say I tell you over and over that I'm the best than eventually you will start to believe it. And everyone wants to support the best right?

everyone wants to be on the side of the winner, that's why everyone loves the patriots and yankees, etc

Thats why he does it. At the end of the day though I really don't think these dudes are sitting back worried that they may have lost some credibility to a bunch of dudes on mesage boards and barbershops(the biggest demographic of dudes that DON'T buy albums)

But to the average female fan, teenage dude, or average white person that DOES buy his album(also the same type of ppl to hop on badnwagons the most) are the ones that will beleive he's the best.

No offense fam but you're all over the place.

He was "winning" totally independent of having credibility as an MC. So none of that shyt mattered to his fans. He could've went the Puffy route from day 1 and it wouldn't change his fan base one bit.

But he chose not to do that. He went the exact opposite route and painted himself as an MC. He even briefly contemplated battling underground cats like Murder Mook for respect.

For respect. He has literally nothing to gain from battling D-tier battle circuit rappers, except bragging rights.

So the idea that he doesn't care about any of this is :mjlol:as hell. I don't expect him to have a Jay-Z style break down after "Ether", but if he didn't care about public perception this isn't even a topic of conversation. It's discussion worthy because his camp took steps to hide his ghost writers and reference tracks. These are not the actions of someone that doesn't care.

He said he wanted to battle when he was hyping up kotd, notice how he never did it?
He was involved with kotd and he was bugging up how important and great battling is.

And his writers got full credit, he wasn't hiding it. Just because he wasn't announcing it doesn't mean he was hiding it
