Another showcase after what seems like a month break I want to thank everyone that has ever voted, or commented on one of these. This has been a coli mainstay for over a year. I hope it at least gives those who want to showcase an outlet, and that it has benefited you as a producer or a listener in someway. A lot of people said that this couldn't be done and it couldn't last. I would say that after over a year of work we have proven the doubters wrong. With that said here is another Coli showcase!

@Mugen

@DBR

Both are dope!

I would've went with Mugen if the Kick wasn't distorting the track like that
but DBR had the cleaner mix and had a really good arrangement. Nice eeri vibe and bounce.

I went with DBR

Ok. but it's distorted
And DBR beat is also kinda Trap
Fam my beat aint trap. This is why criteria is needed for these.

I get mixing and all that but if we talking about the beats talk about the beats. Every beat not gonna sound the same/have the same mix! They shouldn't in my opinion.

You judging a beat off how you want it to sound. You're stating about the distortion is like complaining MJ showed up in 45 and not 23 the night you went to see him play. You still got a good performance, you got originality.
The beat aint generic or a type beat.

After all its opinions, thats indeed.
I appreciate you either way and I'll see ya the next go round. Peace.

OK. Maybe it's the way the bass and kick mix which makes it overdriven.
It's your style so... Can't tell if others like it

7mile to SE & Uptown!
I just feel like my shyt is tough bruh but trust I always heed and appreciate any words given to me.
bro you must be new to these parts. In these showcases it's basically vote for which beat you prefer :yeshrug:
It's understandable that you feel you brought the heat but on a TECHNICAL level @DBR track is superior. It's not a knock on your beat though. I noticed that you haven't signed up for the Beat Tourney. If you feel your beats are so tough why don't you come take a shot at the crown :sas1:

*edit actually I see that you DID sign up. Good luck breh :salute:

I like the differences of the production that said I'll get into the critique

@Mugen the bongos you used were nice, and provided a bounce to the track others stated your drums were distorted, I don't feel it was the drums but the bass (synth) that you use when you introduce the track with that first melody. Then when you throw more low-end with the kicks on top of it it further messes up the frequency which just adds to the already present distortion. technically speaking if that was fixed the mix would sound cleaner. Creatively the beat could fit in a commercial, or videogame for that matter-> tons of composers and producers getting paid off of tracks like that. if you wanted to go for more of a song format I would add some more melodies, and change some of the recurring melodic themes to make the track move musically and not feel stagnate.

@DBR
You always crush the hi-hats. The piano chord breakdown for the hook section is on point. I can't believe you used a Kalimba for the main melody, it really stuck out. The mix is clean.

Vote @DBR

Great showcase by both

I had to go with DBR cos of the overall clean mix and melody that I could rock with

I really fukk with the percussion on mugen's beat but as others have said the kick is overbearing on the track for me.
