some people with NPD are high functioning, sure, but the vast majority are not

in the same way that an alcoholic can be low or high functioning, a narcissist can be as well

most narcs are low functioning, and here are some reasons why:

they can't hold down a job because they consider themselves above menial work

work is for other people, non-special people, aka peasants, aka you, people below them.

being a narcissist is similar to believing you are a special omnipotent god or a king, but being quite average in reality

it's an incredibly frustrating experience for them, which is why they are so angry alot of the time

they don't really respect or care about others so their personal and work relationships usually fall apart

anyone who tries to "fix" them gets used for their resources and discarded

the narcissists on here who are smelling themselves haven't alienated everyone in their lives just yet, but they will

their egos are full from feeding on the un-aware people around them, but, eventually, everyone will catch on to their games, and when the ego starves, they will lash out, and you will see the real them for the first time

they also desire the glory and admiration of being someone who is very accomplished, but without doing any of the work, which is why the vast majority are losers.

their lifestyle is parasitic, and depends on others for resources (food, money, a place to stay, even ego boosts) so do everything you can to avoid becoming one of their "hosts".
