there's only a limited amount of hours in a day and a limited amount of congressional floor proposals that can be had in a session. Their time and resources will be better spent crafting real legislation or bargaining with Republicans on things that can actually change


On a cynical level, I think it's a miscalculation politically. It's extremely apparent to the American people that Trump is inept, immoral, and unqualified. The disingenuous impeachment proceedings won't convince anybody of the fact. Instead, it's more likely to rally his base during midterms as Republican congressmen with a horrible track record so far, can fall back on the fact that they defended their King from persecution . Ideally, you want an anemic Republican base during midterms

it's not apparent to millions of americans that trump and co are inept, immoral, and unqualified. go look at the leopardsatemyface or youvotedforthat subreddits to see people are just learning on a daily basis who he is and how he operates.
