Nah, that won't work. They should absolutely be prepping for impeachment BUT the only thing that will make the Republicans turn is to actually have their state economies crater. It won't take long before layoffs, food shortages, and elevated costs for everything not only makes their re-election bids grim (what they care about most), but it also increases the likelihood they can't step into their own districts without folks walking up on them. Until they feel in multiple kinds of danger, they won't reverse course, which means we gotta go through some shyt before that happens.

I would not expect any real Republican peeloffs until late-Summer, early Fall.

Preparation for impeachment would incompass gathering the evidence needed, one major point being how his policies are harming the economy. They move for impeachment too early and unprepared without the numbers, and all they do is commit to symbolistic actions. They get their ducks in order, their documentation printed, and their experts inline and they may be able to pull in Republicans before it all crashes down around the American people.

The articles of impeachment are encompassing literally his entire presidency. Tariffs? Congress job. Dismantling agencies and firing folk? Illegal.

You are speaking about one narrow part of what Democrats are hammering him on but the entire time, Trump has been sued for illegal actions left and right.
They absolutely have a case right now, and for the "What are Democrats doing" folks, they are doing their jobs. Al Green is making a broader case than tariffs. It's not symbolic, its literally his duty to check Trumps power. Whether or not he is able to affect change by himself doing this is not the point. He is doing his job as all Congressmen should.


Just before I posted this, he is literally talking about Trump defying federal courts. Again, criticizing this action is wrong. He is literally doing his job. Building the case is one part of the process.
