a water tornado :ohhh:all damn near the same shyt

Typhoon is just another name for a hurricane. These names change depending on your geographic location:
* "hurricane" (the North Atlantic Ocean, the Northeast Pacific Ocean east of the dateline, or the South Pacific Ocean east of 160E)
* "typhoon" (the Northwest Pacific Ocean west of the dateline)
* "severe tropical cyclone" (the Southwest Pacific Ocean west of 160E or Southeast Indian Ocean east of 90E)
* "severe cyclonic storm" (the North Indian Ocean)
* "tropical cyclone" (the Southwest Indian Ocean)
actually, no one thinks of these as hurricanes. i lived near the North Indian, Pacific, and Southwest Indian oceans and we never used 'hurricane' ever bc we knew what a typhoon was and is. and also, i have a minor in geography.

off topic, but i don't know if i even really believe in hurricanes. i mean, we already have wind and rain, what is this all-new thing that is a separate entity altogether? what's the point of naming it when we have the ingredients to it already?
