He's taller than Melo and 20-30lbs heavier than him.

Also he doesn't have the ability to get small like other players in traffic and is not as agile as smaller players which you see when he gets into traffic as well.

Jokers on here expect a 6-8 to 6-9 player that weighs 260 to 280 to be able to simulate the same first step and ability of players that weigh less and are smaller than them.

shyt like expecting magic Johnson to have the same explosiveness and agility Zeke (or other top point guards) and or explosive 2 guards in the NBA during his time in the NBA.

Also, Lebron's first step is a tad underrated. Lebron would be blasting by people if they consistently guarded him like they did Melo.

Lebron is being guarded looser, with most of his opponents more scared of his drive than his shot, so his first step doesn't look as quick.

Exactly. Teams don't fear the drive with melo as they fear with Lebron. Teams are more prone to crowd Melo and force him to put it on the floor. Where as Lebron they play the drive and the pass.

Plus when Lebron drives the entire team defensively crash the paint to take charges and force him to give it up. With Lebron's size he is not able to get small like other players who drive and is not as agile as smaller players. Bench why he gets so much more charges.

His situation somewhat reminds me of Magic and Barkley who also had this issue because they were so big. Players were able to get charges because magic and barkley were large players in terms of mass (Barkley) and height (Magic) so they were less agile and able to avoid charges. Also like Lebron in that they were anamolies because people with that mass and or height were never drivers like them and at times smaller and lighter players were used to guard them.

He's done pretty well for about 13 years now without an "elite first step" or "one on one scoring skills". I've seen him beat plenty of cats off the dribble over the years to know that his first step is above average (especially for a man of his size) and his scoring skills have been good enough for him to average 27 a game for his career. And I know he hasn't done all that off pick and rolls and fastbreak points.

Ignore the fact that defenders guard LeBron with a cushion due to his average shooting ability, which hinders his ability to drive/blow by.

This is like saying that Steph Curry has an elite first step when the reality of it is he only gets by defenders because they close out on him hard af/give him no breathing room due to the fact that he's a shooting threat.

It's actually only a testament to how much of a monster Bron is. Defenders guard him specifically to force him to shoot and he still lives in the paint.
