It's a fighting game breh 100k players out the gate and sticking around wasn't happening.

Smash brothers even with good net code probably wouldn't pull more than 10k or so consistently

Looks like you won’t be able to download the game after next week and the game goes offline only in June. It feels like a smart way to try and relaunch it with some hype early next year instead of killing it off
