If I'm not mistaken, the US has the highest murder rate out of the developed (ie. rich) countries.

In terms of homicides, it's close -- 32 of 36. Only Russia, Chile, Mexico, and Brazil are ranked higher if you want to include them. Fortunately we have a very low assault rate (4 of 36) and overall crime in comparison with the rest of the developed world puts at #14 of 36.

Not to derail this thread, but for those who want to visit 10 places they've never been to, have you ever used Kayak?
I see their commercials but never used them.
I've used expedia and priceline in the past. I don't use them anymore.
