but honestly thats what long ass priosn sentences do to some people, so accustomed to it a part of them how sick it may feel don't want to get out.

and to add I always think you should gradually release , say a guy has a 30 year sentence, well after 29 years he should get supervise visits in the community, slowly allowing him to get back into society.

They have re-entry programs for prisoners set in place like how to get a job, build resumes using the skills they learned in prison, most earn degrees/trades, setting them up with halfway/transitional living etc.
This is a case of a guy who is so institutionalized he simply can't function in a free world. 30yrs of being locked up like a caged animal and being released means he's either gonna eat or be ate.
She probably had something to do with his sentence at 15. That or she didn't come visit enough when he was locked up. Or a combination of the two compounded by her saying.....um you can't stay here.and it was his own mother..... after a welcome home party....

Can't imagine going in at 15 coming out at 45 and having to adjust to the world
